Good quality Chinese Cantonese fan with tortoise shell sticks, profusely hand painted with figures within a Palace setting, the figures with ivory faces, the tortoise shell guards profusely carved with figures and flowers, with unmarked silver suspension loop housed in a fitted lacquered box hand gilded with chinoiserié decoration, the fan 27cm long when closed, the box 33cm wide

Painting to fan is generally in good condition but has minor rubbing to the raised and folded edges commensurate with its age
there are no holes but a few small splits appearing to back of the fan
tassle in good condition
laquer box is split on the top but complete
missing laquer to base and a few nibbles to edges
the inner box has one end missing and is only fair in condition
